Mokuhanga – Japanese woodcut

In September, 2012 I went to Colorado to take a Japanese woodcut workshop with Hiroki Morinoue. This body of work is the result of that workshop. I used several blocks representing the four elements of fire, water, earth and air to make the prints. Not all the elements are represented in every print. Here are the image allocations for each element. Fire: stars, rocks, lantern. Water: lake, grass, boat. Earth: hills, trees, jacket. Air: clouds, rain, book.
